Booklet VETUS - PANACEA

“Panacea is an electronic music concept album about discoveries, obstacles and cures. An uneven flow of musical genres and intentions. The tracklist is divided into three parts: discovery, awareness, progress.
These tracks are the result of a work settled over several years, it represents my personal Panacea: the answer to the need to express oneself. "

The album is an emotional diary, mixing ambient, drone, kosmische musik, noise, IDM and techno. About 50 minutes long, the musical genres are associated with the phases of the tracklist.
The work is structured in 3 segments: the first (tracks 1, 2, 3), influenced by contemporary and minimalist music, using vocal samples such as choirs, fields recording, piano, strings, wind instruments and percussion; the central segment (tracks 4, 5, 6, 7), where the sound becomes more fluid and rarefied, between glitch and noise, using an almost whispered spoken word (Ora non tacere) on lirycs written by Massimiliano D'Aloiso, actor and theater director.
In the last part (tracks 8, 9, 10) the sound explodes in defragmented and industrial electronics, taking up from the first tracks the “human” sounds of the sampled voices and brass, creating a man-machine metaphor.
The final composition and recording sessions took place during the first Italian lockdown, March-April (2020).
The analog mastering was done by Globster, sound engineer, DJ, composer and sound manipulator, who also remixed the interlude track “Pharmakon” at the end of the disc.
